Cryptography sounds familiar right?
If you too have studied computer science then you can relate. This one topic we all have come across in our cs classes but we all were never really taught in detail about this! I know this well, that’s why i am writing this 😎
Cryptography is the technology of keeping information secure by transforming it into a form that most normal people like you and me cannot understand.
For example, a doctor’s handwriting is not understood by many. Only a few pharmacists can make out what really a doctor has written. Similarly, algorithms are used to convert simple texts into a form which most people cannot understand!
Cryptography not only protects data from theft or alteration, but can also be used for user authentication. By far the most useful application is in the Blockchain World.
In the blockchain, cryptography is used to secure transactions taking place between two users in a blockchain network. This makes it fit to maintain the integrity and security of blockchain. (We still have hackers breaking into blockchains though 🙂🥲)
This is pretty much what Cryptography is in Layman terms. Hope you guys understood what it means, comment below and ask any more doubts you have! Will be more than happy to answer them :)
