The first word that came to your mind reading this was AWM or level 3 vest right? (Pubg/Bgmi fans ensemble🤌🏻) or the iOS airdrop?

Well this ain’t that Airdrop…what I am talking about is the Airdrop in the Web3.0 world.

We Indians love getting things for free..be it Buy 1 get 1 Free on soaps to crypto, we love everything if free.

So, a cryptocurrency airdrop is a marketing strategy that involves sending small amounts of coins or tokens to wallet addresses for free or in return for a small service, such as retweeting a post sent by the company issuing the currency or liking a particular post or even commenting on it.

Sounds attractive right? COZ IT REALLY IS!😭😭😭 I mean getting crypto for free? WHY NOT!

Hold on, there’s a catch..the ultimate goal of a crypto airdrop is to promote awareness and circulation of a new token or coin. NOT TO MAKE YOU RICH MY FRIEND 🙂🥲 majority of airdrops turn out to be a scam and end up hacking into your crypto wallet.

Many #airdrop scams rely on directing an investor to attach their wallet to a phishing website in order to claim their airdrop..and the moment they link it, they lose all their money 😭😭😭 therefore please be aware and avoid linking your #crypto wallet with unauthorized websites.

At times, certain projects boast that holding certain NFTs in a wallet will cause owners to receive a rare airdrop. This could be true sometimes however a lot of times these projects might turn out to be scams or they create fake hype around these projects for people to invest in it (nobody will ask me how I know this🥲🙂, trust me this ain’t my personal experience 😭😭😭)

So long story short, an airdrop is like a giveaway of a #cryptocurrency in small amounts to any random wallet address for marketing purposes.

I hope next time you read about Airdrop you think about this too along with AWM and iOS 😭😭🤌🏻🤌🏻

Now that you have understood about Airdrops, try getting your hands on some good free crypto all the very best! Share this with your #Web3.0 friends.
